Megan Townsend

I started my career in Liverpool University, a prestigious university in the North of England. I have 10 years’ experience as a qualified physiotherapist in London’s central hospitals, both NHS and private. I have a wide range of experience working with sports injuries, orthopaedic, neurological and respiratory conditions.

In 2019 I decided to broaden my horizons and learn more about Eastern aspects of healing. I travelled to India to train in Ayurvedic massage and Eastern acupuncture treatments. Learning these new techniques has allowed me to incorporate both Eastern and Western methods to create an effective and blissful treatment package. I like to bring a wholistic and balanced approach to my practice.

After returning and harnessing the Eastern skills I’d learned, I realised I had an opportunity to gain more knowledge. I then completed a Western acknowledged training as a licensed acupuncturist with the AACP. Balance and harmony of the body is key, and it is important to me to gain all the knowledge possible to make this happen and help heal the body.

I have lived in Mallorca since 2020 and have fallen in love with the island, people, culture and sunshine. I am in the process of transferring my license to practice physiotherapy over here, and in the meantime have worked hard at fine tuning my masseuse skills. It’s been a wonderful experience to practice a different side of healing the body, and being able to use my Ayurvedic techniques. Happily, it’s given me an opportunity to meet new and interesting people and travel around the island as well!

I am a keen cyclist – and where better to ride around than the beautiful mountainous roads of Mallorca! I am part of numerous cycling clubs and am able to offer sports massages to my fellow cyclists. This is combining two of my passions, and something that will never get old.
